First generation. Justo Antonio y LuisBrothers Luis and Justo Antonio Ortega Casillas had emigrated to Santa Isabel, the capital of the island of Fernando Poo (formerly Spanish Guinea), in 1925. Over fifteen years, they were able to save some money, and in 1940 they returned to their home town of Miajadas in the province of Cáceres with the dream of setting up a family business. They wanted a business that would allow the family to live more happily where they had once struggled, without having to leave again the Extremadura they had missed so much.
Full of hopes and dreams, they opened their business in a small shop selling a wide range of products for the home and even gold wedding rings and earrings for babies. Little by little and with great effort, the Ortega brothers made good progress, winning the trust and the custom of the people of Miajadas and neighbouring villages.
In 1972, after a series of reorganisations and growth, the second generation took the helm at the ORTEGA firm. Eugenia and Luis Miguel Ortega Sánchez, (Justo Antonio and Manuela’s children) took over in a company. They continued to adapt the business to suit changing times, always keeping in mind that offering customers the best conditions in purchasing comfort requires a firm commitment to excellence and innovation.

Third generation. Luis Miguel.In 2020, the third generation led by Luis Miguel Ortega Acero (son of Luis Miguel) decided to continue the tradition of the family jewellery business. They launched an updated strategy for the ORTEGA brand to move online. They now do all their business online, offering a selection of jewellery in 750 (18K) gold.

This innovative, free service for customers ensures that they know that we’re listening to them and advising them in a personalised way throughout their purchase.
